Women's Swimming Has Podium Finish at Conference Meet
Elkhart, Ind.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Swimming team competed in the KCAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, resulting in a third-place finish for the Spires.
Saint Mary had one individual champion at the meet: Ayla Pierce, who won the 100-yard butterfly event, recording a time of 56.72 seconds. Pierce also had a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley and the 1650-yard freestyle event with times of 2:10.24 and 18:22.06, respectively. Reagan Salsbury also helped the Spires score points throughout the meet, taking fifth place in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Sydney Jones, Reagan Baird, Salsbury, and Pierce took second in their event with a time of 1:49.12. Another relay team, this time the 800-yard freestyle team of Rilynn Guynes, Olivia Ringle, Baird, and Pierce, had a third-place finish.
These performances and others helped Saint Mary finish in third place as a team with a total of 402 points.
