Facilities Tour

The University of Saint Mary is proud to be the home of several great athletics facilities. Take a quick look at our campus and then contact us about recruitment!


Charles Berkel Memorial Stadium

The state-of-the-art complex has bleacher-style seats for 1,000 fans, two patios, goalposts, a new scoreboard, a climate-controlled press box with seven rooms, and sidewalks from the parking lot to the bleacher section that are wheelchair accessible.


Ryan Sports Center

Ryan Sports Center, a 1,500-seat multi-purpose arena, is home to the USM volleyball team, and both the men's and women's basketball teams. It features a running/walking track, training room, racquetball courts, athletic offices, and locker rooms. The court was named after the late Sister Madonna Fink in 2005, who was an avid fan of USM sports. She was also the first member of the USM Hall of Fame in 1999 for her "meritorious service for outstanding performance." 


Baseball and Softball Fields

The new University of Saint Mary Softball Complex was built in 2015. The complex has one of the largest outfields in the KCAC, with the right- and left-field lines measuring 210 feet and center field at 220 feet. New features the softball field include: one-person bullpen on the visitor’s side, a two-person bullpen on the home side dugout (next to a 50-foot long batting cage). The home and visitors’ dugouts designed to be spacious with padding on the rails and two entrances/exits on either side of the dugouts. A press box was built with the perfect vantage point, while the stands behind home plate are equipped with a concessions stand. Both a new score board and new home/visitor bleachers also adorn the space. 

Every home game is live streamed. The softball complex also has paved parking lot (free parking). 


Swimming Facility

The swimming facility is located on the campus of Lansing High School. It boasts six lanes and elevated bleachers for the best viewing experience for fans. Both the men's and women's swim teams practice and host competitions at the facility.


Wrestling Facility

The USM Wrestling Facility includes a padded wrestling room along with men’s and women’s locker rooms. It also has an athletic training room, weight room with four platforms, game room, and cardio room. Both the men’s and women’s wrestling teams use the facility for practices. The wresting facility is located just minutes from campus at 522 Kickapoo Street in Leavenworth.

 


Cross Country Course

The University of Saint Mary cross country course sits just behind the baseball and softball fields on campus. The teams hold all their home meets here with a 5K and 8K course length for the men's and women's races. Parking for the events is located on a hill just to the right of the baseball field, as well as near the softball field.

Bowling

The University of Saint Mary men's and women's bowling teams will begin competition at Crown Lanes bowling center, during the 2021-22 academic year. Crown lanes features a total of 24 bowling lanes, an arcade and snack bar.

McGilley Field House

McGilley Field House is an ultra-modern arena used primarily as a practice and training facility located north of Ryan. McGilley is the largest recreational facility in the Leavenworth/Lansing area with a 2,000 seating capacity, three full-size basketball courts, three full-size volleyball courts, a regulation size futsal (soccer) court and indoor batting tunnel. McGilley is also the home of intramural athletics on campus.


De Paul Fitness Center

The DePaul Fitness Center was freshly renovated for the USM community in 2020. It has a dedicated staff and includes:

  • A well-out­fitted weight room with racks, machines, and ample space for floor lifts
  • A cardio room with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, rowers, yoga mats, and more
  • Dedicated plyo and flexibility spaces

Utilizing the center is covered by regular student fees. Students also have employment opportunities at the DePaul Fitness Center.
