
Saint Mary Men's Soccer Receive 7 All-KCAC Honorees
WICHITA, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary’s men’s soccer team made a notable impact on the 2024 KCAC Men’s Soccer All-Conference teams, with seven players recognized across the Second Team and Honorable Mention categories. This recognition highlights the depth and talent of the young Spires’ roster, whose players displayed skill, resilience, and teamwork throughout the season.
Second Team Honors
Three Saint Mary players earned spots on the KCAC Second Team:

Boris Trejo (Defender, Jr., Houston, Texas): Trejo anchored the Spires' defense with a reliable presence on the back line. Playing in 17 games with 13 starts, Trejo’s defensive awareness helped limit opponent scoring opportunities. He also contributed offensively with two assists on the season, adding value to both the defensive and attacking phases of play.

Romario Harding (Forward, Jr., Kingston, Jamaica): Harding was a crucial element in the Spires’ attack, scoring 6 goals and providing 1 assist over 13 games (7 starts). Known for his speed and ability to finish, Harding generated 38 shots with a 63.2% shot-on-goal rate, constantly pressing opposing defenses and leading Saint Mary’s offensive efforts. He scored two game-winning goals, proving his reliability in clutch moments.

Daniel Castro (Forward, So., Ukiah, Calif.): Castro showcased versatility and an impressive attacking flair, tallying 10 goals and 1 assist in 18 games (13 starts). His accuracy in front of goal was reflected in his 61.4% shot-on-goal rate, and he added a game-winning goal to his name, making him a key player in the Spires' attacking strategy.

Four Spires players earned Honorable Mentions, further showcasing the depth of talent on Saint Mary’s squad:

Homero Gonzalez (Defender, Sr., Guayaquil, Ecuador): Gonzalez was a defensive cornerstone, appearing in 16 games with 15 starts. He contributed 2 assists, and his leadership and positioning at the back helped solidify the team’s defensive unit, playing a vital role in managing the Spires' back line.

Huib Siefkes (Midfielder, Fr., Gelderland, Netherlands): Siefkes made an impressive debut, playing in all 18 games with 12 starts. He contributed 6 goals and 3 assists, showing both playmaking ability and attacking prowess. Siefkes’ shot accuracy was a solid 60.0%, and his goal-scoring instincts made him an exciting prospect in the Spires' midfield.
