Bio

Andy Kelley will enter his third season at the helm of the Women's Basketball program here at Saint Mary. Since being appointed head coach in 2021, the Spires won their first-ever KCAC Tournament Championship and made an appearance in the 2022-23 NAIA National Tournament. He has coached seven All-KCAC Athletes, and in 2022-23, the team won 21 games, breaking the single-season record. 

Coach Kelley spent four total seasons on the Wildcats women's basketball staff as an assistant prior to coming to USM. While there, he helped lead the team to a 90-36 record and a Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championship in 2017. The Wildcats also made three NAIA National Tournament appearances – two Sweet 16 and one Final Four appearance along with a runner-up finish in 2016.

He also coached and recruited four NAIA All-Americans, 10 All-Conference selections, a two-time conference Defensive Player of the Year, and one conference Player of the Year.

Kelley was also the head men's and women's golf coach, where he had six tournament victories and coached the 2021 Women's Golf Heart of America Newcomer of the Year. He also served as the head coach of Kansas Eclipse 15U and 16U girl's basketball club teams in the KC metro area.

Kelley graduated from Baker in 2014 and was a three-time All-Heart of America Conference First Team member on the Wildcats' golf team.

He resides in Bonner Springs, Kansas, with his wife Jess, the assistant girls basketball coach at Desoto High School, and their daughter Lindsey.
