
Spires Fall To Bethany
LINDSBORG, Kan. - The University of Saint Mary baseball team struggled offensively and fell against Bethany College, 7-1 Sunday afternoon.
Saint Mary is now 3-20 overall and 3-10 in the KCAC.
The Spires struggled offensively while Bethany pitched efficiently to keep the hitters off balance. Bethany was able to score first in the bottom of the first, 1-0. The Spires looked to answer back but struggled offensively. The Spires were able to put up a run in the top of the eighth to cut the deficit by two, 3-1. Bethany answered back and scored four more runs to extend their lead over the Spires, 7-1. Saint Mary looked to answer back but couldn't find a spark and fell to Bethany, 7-1.
Daniel Gonzales led the Spires with two hits.
