Baseball Drops Final Game in Series Against Ottawa

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Baseball team hosted the Ottawa Braves for game three of their weekend series, resulting in a 6-3 loss. The Spires are now 13-11 overall and 8-6 in conference play. 

 

The Braves took an early lead over Saint Mary, scoring five runs in the first four innings of play. Kruz Wahwahsuck brought the first runs across the plate for the Spires with an RBI single to center field to make it a 5-1 ball game. Ottawa responded with their final run of the game in the top half of the seventh. Errors allowed Saint Mary to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Daniel Martinez's single to right field brings home Ben Cordova, and Eli Prine hit a sacrifice fly to center field to make it a 6-3 ball game. The Saint Mary offense was not able to get more runs across the plate and fell 6-3
