
Saint Mary's Rocket League Blue Soars Past Rogers State into NECC Championship
LEAVENWORTH, KS – The University of Saint Mary's Rocket League Blue team delivered a dominant performance in their NECC semifinal matchup against Rogers State University securing a 4-0 series victory in a best-of-seven format.
The Spires came out strong in game one, taking a 2-1 win with goals from Colin Smith and Lewis Gray, while Rylan Nowak anchored the defense with four crucial saves. Game two saw an even more decisive 3-0 victory for USM Blue, with Smith, Gray, and Nowak all finding the back of the net. The pressure continued in game three, as the Spires clinched a 3-2 win, highlighted by two goals from Nowak and the game-winner from Gray.
The final game proved to be a thrilling contest, going into overtime tied 2-2 after goals from Smith and Gray. However, Lewis Gray sealed the deal for USM Blue, scoring the overtime winner to secure their spot in the NECC Conference Championship.
