Men’s Soccer Edges Tabor in Senior Night Victory

LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The Spires men's soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a 2-1 win over Tabor in a tightly contested match. After a scoreless first half, the game picked up pace in the second, with all three goals coming in the second half.

The Spires took the lead in the 54th minute when Isha Hughan scored off an assist from Huib Siefkes, giving Saint Mary the advantage. Tabor responded in the 72nd minute as Daniel Davis netted the equalizer. With the game in the balance, Hughan struck again in the 81st minute, scoring unassisted to put Saint Mary back on top, securing the win.

Saint Mary outshot Tabor 18-10, creating consistent pressure throughout the match. Both teams were even in fouls (9 each), but the Spires were able to make the most of their opportunities. The Spires' defense, with seven saves, helped preserve the victory, giving USM a memorable Senior Night win.

The Spires now have an overall record of 8-5-1 and are 6-3 in conference play. They will host Oklahoma Wesleyan next Wednesday October 23rd at 7:30pm.
