
Jorgens and Swarts Show Out in Sam Freas Invitational
Edmond, OKLA. - The University of Saint Mary swimming team traveled to Edmond, Oklahoma, this weekend to compete in the Sam Freas Invitational, delivering strong early-season performances. Senior Blake Jorgens secured an NAIA National "B" cut in the 50-yard freestyle, placing 4th in the event. Freshman Taya Swarts also achieved NAIA National "B" cuts in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, placing 6th in the 50 free.
Other notable performances included Ayla Pierce, Olivia Ringle, Ian Lucas, Matt Hall, and Luke Taylor, contributing to a solid team showing. The men's 200-yard medley relay team placed 6th, while Olivia Ringle took 18th in the women's 200-yard freestyle. Luke Taylor secured a 4th-place finish in the men's 200-yard butterfly, and Blake Jorgens added a 6th-place finish in the men's 100-yard individual medley. The men's team also placed 6th in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
These results mark a promising start to the season for the Spires, as they continue to build momentum.
