
Two Spires Hit National Standards at Washburn Rust Buster
Topeka, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Indoor Track and Field team competed in the Washburn University Rust Buster this Saturday.
Luis Perez had a strong weekend for Saint Mary with two top-five finishes at the meet. Perez took fourth in the 800m event with a time of 1:54.86, which was good enough for an NAIA B standard. Later in the day, he took first in the one-mile event with a time of 4:12.41 and an NAIA A standard.
Liam Neidig also hit an NAIA A standard in the one-mile event with a time of 4:14.19 and a ninth-place finish. Ryan Heline and Tommy Baker also reached the top fifteen in the one-mile. Neidig had another top-ten finish in the 800m event, too.
The 4x400m relay team of Adrian Seeber, Elijah Cole, Robert Huebert, and Wlices Ramos ran a time of 3:29.79, good enough for a sixth-place finish.
In the field events, Tony Kinser took tenth place in the high jump event with a mark of 1.91 meters. Chinedu Nwadike had a top-15 finish in the weighted throw as well.
