Saint Mary Has Multiple Top 20 Finishes This Weekend

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Indoor Track and Field team competed in two different meets this weekend, splitting between the Wendy's/ Pittsburg State Invite and the Concordia Classic. 

 

Pitt State

Dominick Beine had a strong showing for the Spires in the one-mile event, placing 21st overall with a time of 4:21.64. Beine also took fourth place in the 3000m event, running an 8:29.09. Ryan Heline and Tommy Baker finished right behind Beine, taking seventh and eighth in the same event.  

 

The final event to crack the top five for Saint Mary was the distance medley relay team of Liam Neidig, Wlices Ramos, Jonah Godina, and Luis Perez, who finished with a time of 10:06.79, good enough for a first-place finish.

 

Concordia Classic

Devon Trippin placed in the top 20 of the 200m event for Saint Mary, running a 24.34 and taking 20th place. In the 400m event, Samson Shukuruh and Adrian Seeber took sixth and 13th place, respectively. Shukuruh finished with a time of 51.31 seconds, nearly missing the national standard. The Spires had two runners place in the top 20 of the 600-meter event. Austin Howell and Kevin Flannigan came in 14th and 18th place, respectively.

The indoor track and field teams will compete in the Bearcat Invite hosted by Northwest Missouri State on Friday and Saturday in Maryville, Missouri.
