Bio

Erin Merkley is in her first year here at the University of Saint Mary. Before being named an assistant for the Spires, coach Merkley was at UMKC from 2022 to 2023. She coached at Kimball High School in 2019 and 2020 as well. Coach Merkely has earned her Bachelors in Exercise Science and Wellness from Brigham Young University and has her Master's Degree from Southern Utah University in Sports Conditioning and performance. She was a Regional Qualifier for three years at the division one level as a heptathlete and also had standout performances in the high jump and 800m. Merkely was ranked 18th in the West Conference in the high jump event with almost a 6ft mark. 

Coach Merkley enjoys spending time and being active with family and her dogs in her free time.
