
Men's Track Display Strong Performances at WashU Distance Carnival
St. Louis, MO. – The men of the St. Mary (Kan.) track & field team delivered noteworthy performances at the WashU Distance Carnival, held at Washington University's Francis Field. Facing a competitive field that included athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA schools, the Spires showcased their talent and dedication in distance events.
In the 800 Meter Run, Luis Perez put forth a strong effort, finishing in 18th place with a time of 1:52.30. The 5000 Meter Run saw a contingent of Spires competing well. Ryan Heline led the team in this event, crossing the finish line in 14:42.83 to take 44th place. Close behind was Dominick Beine, finishing in 50th place with a time of 14:49.47. Aleksandr Krikov also contributed with a time of 15:13.84, placing 86th, and Daniel Pantoja finished in 109th place with a time of 15:23.68.
As an unscored meet, the WashU Distance Carnival highlighted individual performances, and the St. Mary (Kan.) men demonstrated their ability to compete against a high level of competition.
Looking ahead, the Spires will be back in action soon at the ESU Relays in Emporia State on Friday, April 4th.
