Spires Sweep Sunset Showdown
LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary cross country teams delivered outstanding performances at the Spire Sunset Showdown, capturing first place in both the women's and men's races.
Women’s Results:
The Spires' women's team showcased their dominance while securing five of the top six positions. Reagan Hiebert led the charge, clinching first place with a time of 18:29.13. Josie Tyrrell closely followed in second place, finishing in 18:31.71. Kate Madsen secured third place with a time of 18:37.36. Riley Hiebert and Carlie Gregg rounded out the top six with times of 18:51.71 and 19:04.43, respectively. This impressive lineup underlines the depth of the women’s team.
Men’s Results:
On the men’s side, the Spires also demonstrated exceptional performance, with their top five runners placing prominently in the top ten. Dominick Beine led the team with a second-place finish, crossing the line in 25:06.72. Ryan Heline followed in third place with a time of 25:12.61. The team’s strength continued with top-ten finishes from additional key runners: Luis Perez placing eighth and Chris Metz finishing ninth in the overall standings.
