
Eagles Scrape By Spires, 65-64
Bartlesville, Okla. – The University of Saint Mary women's basketball team dropped to (1-5, 0-3 KCAC) after Oklahoma Wesleyan University rallied for a one-point win over the Spires, 65-64.
GAME FLOW
The Spires came out and played with fire after dropping their first two conference games of the season. Saint Mary and Oklahoma Wesleyan battled back and forth the entire game. A great team effort all around allowed the Spires to lead in almost all categories for the night. Saint Mary shot 44.6 percent from the field with some big buckets by Tiani White and Sienna Brown to put the Spires up by four points with just under a minute to play. A pair of free-throws put the Eagles within two points with five seconds left in the game. After a Saint Mary time out, a foul was given to Saint Mary, which gave Oklahoma Wesleyan the ball. Coley Ickes drove to the basket, made the shot and a foul was called to give the Eagles the chance to take the lead. Ickes knocked down the free-throw allowing the Eagles to sneak away with the win.
