LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary women's soccer team faced a tough match at home against Oklahoma Wesleyan, resulting in a 4-0 loss. The visiting team set the tone early, scoring just 34 seconds into the game and adding three more goals in the first half. Despite a stronger defensive showing in the second half, the Spires were unable to mount a comeback.
Oklahoma Wesleyan controlled much of the match, outshooting Saint Mary 29-3, with 18 of those shots on target. The Spires' goalkeeper, Marisol Vargas, had a busy night, recording 13 saves to limit further damage after the early onslaught. On offense, Saint Mary struggled to break through the Eagles defense.
