Lord’s Two Goals Leads Spires to 3-1 Win Over Graceland University

LEAVENWORTH, KAN- The University of Saint Mary women’s soccer team secured the win 3-1 over the Graceland University Yellowjackets.

Rebecca Lord scored the first goal in the 11th minute off an assist from Sadie Dipman soon after Graceland’s Florencia Campondinco scored to keep the game close.

Josie Hallier scored at the 32-minute mark from far out to give the Spires the advantage 2-1.

The Yellowjackets had the chance to equalize the game, but the goal was recalled due to offsides to end the first half.

Both teams fought hard in the second half, keeping the game close.

A yellow card on Graceland’s Mackenzie Melrose resulted in a penalty kick for the Spires.  Rebecca Lord scored her second goal in the 78th minute to set the score 3-1 after Melrose’s yellow card.

The Spires closed out their 3rd game of the season with a win at home 3-1.
