Women's Indoor Track & Field Has Strong Showing at Pitt State

Pittsburg, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Indoor Track and Field team competed in the Crimson and Gold Invite on Saturday. The Spires had seven athletes finish in the top 25, and three achieved NAIA "A" and "B" standards. 

 

Gretchen Raney had a strong showing in the 60m event, running a 1:55.62 and finishing in the top 20. Raney's time was fast enough to qualify as an NAIA "B" standard. Lexi Wardlow had a top-25 finish in the 400-meter event, running a time of 58.72. Riley Hiebert and Maddy Walter-Sherretts finished in the top 20 of the one-mile event. Hiebert finished with a time of 5:08.88, and Walter-Sherretts finished with a time of 5:13.23. In the 3000-meter event, Reagan Hiebert and Kate Madsen finished in the top ten, and both hit NAIA "A" standards. On the field side of things, Carrisa Martin had a top-20 finish in the triple jump event with a mark of 10.34 meters.
