University of Saint Mary Track and Field Shines at Bearcat Invite

MARYVILLE, MO. - The University of Saint Mary Track and Field team delivered an outstanding performance at the Bearcat Invite this past weekend, with several athletes achieving national qualifying standards. Here are the highlights of National Qualifying Marks from this weekend.

Gretchen Raney showcased her speed and determination, finishing 6th at the meet with a time of 7.59 seconds. This impressive performance places her 4th in the NAIA and 1st in the KCAC, solidifying her position as a top sprinter.

Raney continued to excel in the 400m, securing 2nd place overall with a time of 57.71 seconds. This remarkable run not only earned her a podium finish but also set a new school record. She is currently ranked 2nd in the KCAC, demonstrating her versatility and strength in multiple events.

Carly Holadia set a new school record in the 1k with a time of 2:56.94. Her performance met the NAIA B Standard, placing her 1st in the KCAC and 7th in the NAIA.

Riley Hiebert dominated the 3k event, finishing 1st overall with a time of 9:57.13. Her time meets the NAIA A Standard, ranking her 10th in the NAIA and 1st in the KCAC.

Tommy Baker also made headlines with his performance in the 3k, clocking in at 8:20.59. His time meets the NAIA B Standard, placing him 5th in the NAIA and 1st in the KCAC.

The University of Saint Mary Track and Field team continues to make significant strides, with these athletes leading the way. The Women's program is currently ranked 11th in the most recent national rankings, reflecting their consistent performances and success throughout the season thus far. Looking ahead, the team is preparing for KCAC Indoor Championships, where they aim to continue their impressive form, achieve more national qualifying marks, and ultimately aim to win their 37th and 38th Conference Championships in school history
