
Spires Women Shine with Record-Breaking Performances, Secure 4th Place
LEAVENWORTH, Kan. - The University of Saint Mary's women's track and field team delivered a series of outstanding performances at their recent outdoor meet, culminating in a strong 4th place overall finish. The Spires showcased exceptional talent and determination, highlighted by multiple record-breaking achievements and strong placements throughout the meet.
Sprint and Hurdles Highlights
- Gretchen Raney displayed incredible speed, securing 1st place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.93 seconds. She also achieved 2nd place in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 25.21 seconds.
- Jordyn Miller-Knuckles had an exceptional meet, setting a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.80 seconds, securing 2nd place. This remarkable feat breaks a record that was set back in 2025.
- Hope Crabtree also delivered a record-breaking performance in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 2nd with a time of 1:04.05, establishing a new school record by nearly a full second.
- Keiyah Cole also had a strong performance in the 200 Meter dash where she placed 6th with a time of 26.12.
- Deslyne Cooper ran the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.90, securing 4th place.
- Jane Duteil secured 4th place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.22 seconds.
Field Event Dominance
- Jordyn Miller-Knuckles continued her impressive performance by securing 1st place in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.55 meters.
- Emma Murphy placed 5th in the discus throw, with a distance of 33.75 meters.
Relay and Distance Performances
- The 4x100 relay team consisting of Keiyah Cole, Deslyne Cooper, Hope Crabtree, and Gretchen Raney placed 2nd with a time of 47.85.
- In the 5000 meters, Josie Tyrrell placed 1st with a time of 18:08.34, and Kate Madsen placed 3rd with a time of 18:40.80.
- Carly Holadia, Abigail White, Kathryn Cameron, and Emilia Diaz placed 1st in the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:59.26.
- Carly Holadia also placed 5th in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:47.34, and Josie Tyrrell placed 6th with a time of 4:49.67.
