
Jacquez, Frounfelter, Dismuke, and Boday Show Out in Missouri Valley Open
MARSHALL, MO. - The University of Saint Mary women's wrestling team showcased resilience and skill this past weekend at the highly competitive Missouri Valley Open. Several Spires delivered standout performances, marking a successful outing for the team in a tournament featuring some of the top talent in collegiate wrestling.

Alexsys Jacquez (110 lbs): Alexsys Jacquez led the Spires with a dominant showing, advancing deep into the consolation bracket. After a first-round victory via fall in just 29 seconds over Bella Savage (University of the Cumberlands), Jacquez continued her winning streak in the consolation rounds with four technical falls and another pin. She defeated opponents from Lindenwood University, the University of Alberta, York University, and the University of the Cumberlands before falling to Hailey Holland (Missouri Valley College) in the sixth consolation round.

Amelia Frounfelter (160 lbs): Frounfelter made an impressive run, advancing to the championship's fourth round. She secured victories by fall over Emma Thomas (Lindenwood University) and Noelle Gaffney (Unattached). Despite a tough loss in the championship quarterfinals to Gretchen Donally (Colorado Mesa University) and in the sixth consolation round, Frounfelter's performance demonstrated her potential on the mat.

Maci Pearson (131 lbs): Pearson had a strong showing, advancing to the third championship round. She secured a first-period fall over Kiera Stedall (University of Alberta) and later pinned Madison Rich (Ottawa University) in the consolation rounds before being eliminated by Abby Rhodes (Quincy).

Rachel Dismuke (124 lbs): Dismuke opened her tournament with a dominant technical fall over Danyl Pippin (Wayland Baptist University). In the consolation bracket, she continued her success with a 10-0 technical fall victory over Miriam Hopson (Grand Valley State) before being defeated by Josie Davis (Campbellsville University).

Araya Boday (138 lbs): Boday earned a commanding 12-2 technical fall victory in the first championship round against Ivy Davis (Fort Hays State). Although she faced tough competition in subsequent rounds, her opening win highlighted her skill and determination.
