Saint Mary Women's Wrestling Defeats Friends To Claim KCAC Regular Season Title

WICHITA, Kan. - The University of Saint Mary women's wrestling team showcased its dominance in a commanding 38-12 victory over Friends University, securing the KCAC Regular Season Championship. The Spires demonstrated their strength across multiple weight classes, utilizing technical falls, forfeits, and pins to overpower the Falcons.

Saint Mary set the tone early with a technical fall at 103 pounds, where Eyvori Jacquez secured a 12-2 victory over Trinity Motter in just 2:48. The momentum continued at 110 pounds, as Alexsys Jacquez won by forfeit, adding another five points to the Spires' team score.

Friends University picked up their first win at 117 pounds, with Vanessa Tellez earning a forfeit victory. However, Saint Mary quickly regained control with Rachel Dismuke (124) and Maci Pearson (131) both winning by forfeit, extending USM's lead.

At 138 pounds, Araya Boday delivered a crucial pin over Gianna Moreno in 3:47, further solidifying the Spires' dominance. While Friends responded with Heidi Schultz pinning Allison King at 145, USM continued its success at 160, where Amelia Frounfelter secured a pin over Alondra Guzman-Tarango.

Hannah Henderson (180) added another technical fall for the Spires, defeating Bailee Nelson 16-6, before Lessly Sandoval (207) sealed the championship victory with a fall over Angel Lee.

With their 38-12 victory, the University of Saint Mary women's wrestling team captured the KCAC Regular Season Championship, showcasing their depth and skill.
