As the Game and Event manager for athletics, Ballou-Lyngstad will be responsible for coordinating the planning and execution of athletic events for the university's 28 intercollegiate varsity sports programs. Ballou-Lyngstad said his goal is "to ensure that fans have the best possible experience enjoying Saint Mary athletics, whether it be from the comfort of their home or live and in person."

Ballou-Lyngstad competed at Tabor College as a distance runner for the cross-country and track and field teams. He received his BA in Sport Management and a minor in Marketing at Tabor in the Spring of 2020 and finished classes for his MBA last summer. Ballou-Lyngstad was a Sports Information graduate assistant and later became the Director of Video Streaming as he completed his master's program. Riley was then named the Sports Information Director at Tabor in August of last year.
