Salina, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Baseball team concluded their road weekend series against Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday, resulting in an 18-7 and 19-6 loss. The Spires are now 16-21 overall and 10-15 in conference play.

Game One

Kruz WahWahsuck hit the second home run in the inning and drove in Bryce Turner to give USM a 3-0 lead. However, the Spire's lead was short-lived; Kansas Wesleyan scored three runs in the first and second innings to take a 6-3 lead over Saint Mary. In the following inning, Daniel Martinez hit the fourth home run of the day to bring the Spires within five runs of Kansas Wesleyan. The Coyotes continued to score at will, driving in seven more runs to the Spires one, ending the game with a score of 18-7.

Kansas Wesleyan responded in the bottom of the second with ten runs, seven of which came from home runs to give them a 10-5 lead over the Spires. Wahwahsuck had his fourth RBI of the day in the top of the fourth inning with another single. Down just four runs, Saint Mary could not remain within striking distance, giving up nine unanswered runs and falling 19-6.
