Spires Host Final Local Tournament of the Year

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary eSports team hosted their final Super Smash Bros. local tournament of the year on Wednesday. 

In the first round, Kirk Zielinski won in the first round with a 3-1 win over his opponent to move on to game two of the winner's bracket. Mitch Medford lost in the opening round to an unaffiliated player. Medford won his first game in the lower half of the bracket setting up a win-or-go-home game against Zielinski. After a hard-fought match, Zielinski came out victorious, winning 3-0 over Medford. In the championship game, Zielinski fell to his opponent 3-0 and took second place.
