Coach Clark Named to USA Football Board of Directors

Greenville, N.C.- USA Football announced on Tuesday that former U.S. National Team alumnus and current Women's Flag Football Head Coach Amber Clark will join the Board of Directors.

Clark had this to say when asked about being put on the board, "To be voted onto the board is an honor, and I am excited to step into this role to be a voice and to continue cultivating the great game of football. It means everything knowing my peers trust me with this responsibility, and I promise I will make them proud. I want to empower young ladies who look like me and understand that they should always reach for the stars!"

Once she had finished competing on the track and field team at UNC-Chapel Hill, Clark entered the realm of football. Her professional experiences with the Legends Football League helped her make the 2023 U.S. Women's Flag National Team. Clark was a key player for the team that won a gold medal at the 2023 International Federation of American Football Americas Continental Flag Football Championship in Charlotte last July.

In her time as a team member, Clark was a role model for the next generation of flag football players, and she also attends multiple USA Football events and engagements throughout the year. Clark was also named an alternate for the team in 2022.

She was voted on the board of directors by a group of former U.S. National Team alumni. With the addition of Coach Clark and another former player, five members of USA Football's Board of Directors have played for the U.S. national teams before being voted onto the board.

The Spires will open their season on the road against Baker University at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, in Baldwin City, Kansas.
