Spires Fall to Warriors 37-13

Fremont, Neb.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Flag Football team traveled to play the Midland Warriors on Wednesday, resulting in a 37-13 loss. The Spires are now 0-5 overall and in conference play.

The Warriors had a substantial jump on the Spires in the first quarter, scoring two touchdowns. Despite Midland's potent offense game, the Spires defense put pressure on their opponents. Makayla Swengbe had two sacks during the game, forcing long third and fourth down conversions. However, the Midland offense kept up the scoring. The Spires scored a touchdown right before halftime, making the score 31-7 in favor of the Warriors.

The second half of the game went smoother for Saint Mary as they settled in and held the Warriors to only one touchdown for the rest of the game. The Spires fought until the end as Sade Ervin scored one final touchdown for USM on the last play of regulation, resulting in the final score of 37-13.
