Men's Lacrosse Drops to Midland in Season Finale

Men's Lacrosse Drops to Midland in Season Finale

Fremont, Neb.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Lacrosse team took on Midland University to conclude the regular season, resulting in a 14-4 loss. The Spires finished the season with a final overall record of 0-10 and 0-4 in the KCAC.

The Spires struck first as Dillon Huffines found Carter Hale for the early goal. Midland, however, responded with four goals to close out the first quarter. Saint Mary refused to let up throughout the game, as Hale scored early in the second quarter and again right before halftime on a man-up opportunity to head into halftime trailing just 5-3. Eight unanswered goals by the Warriors coming out of halftime put the game out of reach for USM. One more goal by Saint Mary would not be enough as Midland ran away with the 14-4 win. Hale scored four goals on the day, while Landry Murley recorded 16 saves.
