Men's Soccer Scores in Each Half for a 2-0 Win

Hillsboro, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Soccer team played the Tabor Blue Jays Saturday, winning 2-0. The Spire's overall record is now 6-3-3 and 3-2-2 in the KCAC heading into a weekend match-up against York University.

The first period started quickly, as Tabor had a few shots on goal in the opening minutes. Saint Mary was pressing offensively as well, taking multiple shots on goal throughout the period. It wasn't until the twenty-nine-minute mark that Anthony Rangel assisted Romario Harding, scoring the first goal of the game, giving the Spires a 1-0 lead. Saint Mary continued the offensive pressure throughout the period. However, none of these shots found the back of the net, and the score held at 1-0 going into halftime.

The Spires and Tabor were not able to produce much offense to start the second half. In the seventy-ninth minute, Saint Mary struck again as Jonathan Wilson scored for the Spires, making the score 2-0. Tabor struggled to get any offensive attack going against Saint Mary throughout the second half. Goalie Come Grieu kept the Blue Jays off the board, giving up zero goals on the day.
