Men's Team Takes Second at Spires Relays

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Swimming team hosted multiple programs for the Spire Relays on Saturday. The men took second place just 14 points behind Nebraska Wesleyan. 

 

The 100-yard freestyle relay team of Blake Jorgens, Ian Lucas, Luke Denney, and Gavin Wagner was the first to finish with a time of 41.69. The next first-place finish for the Spires was the 200 freestyle team of Jorgens, Lucas, Denney, and Matt Hall. They swam a time of 1:32.51 and beat Nebraska Wesleyan by three-hundredths of a second. The Spire's final first-place finish of the day came from the 100-yard medley relay team. Jorgens, Wagner, Lucas, and Mayson Thiebaud finished in just 49.00 seconds to win comfortably.
