Spires have Strong Showing in Outdoor Season Opener

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Track & Field team hosted the Spires Distance Carnival on Friday.

 

Luis Perez opened the evening with a first-place finish in the 800m event with a time of 1:54.94, while Johna Godina took fifth with a time of 1:57.69. Liam Neidig hit an NAIA "B" standard in the 1500m event, running a 3:53.43 and finishing in fourth place. Saint Mary had a first and second finish in the 3000m steeplechase; Kaden Cooley took first with a time of 9:44.00, and Dawson Adams took second, running a 9:54.66. Ryan Heline hit the second standard of the day, running a 14:41.05 and taking second place in the 5000m event.

The Spires will conclude the weekend with the Quad Meet Challenge at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium.
