Spires Compete in ESU Relays and Wash U Distance Carnival
Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Outdoor Track and Field teams competed at the Emporia State Relays and the Wash U Distance Carnival this weekend.
Emporia Meet
Elijah Cole cracked the top twenty in the 400m hurdles event, running a 58.21 and taking 14th place. The 4x400 relay team of Devin Tipton, Sampson Shukuru, Adrian Seeber, and Wlices Ramos had a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:24.90. Saint Mary had two top-ten finishes and multiple top-twenty finishes in the field events. Donel Jack took seventh place in the triple jump with a mark of 14.05 meters. In the pole vault event, Julian Bishop hit the 4.18-meter mark for a sixth-place finish. Tyler Cherne took 13th place in the discus event with a mark of 44.83 meters; his mark is the third-best in the conference.
Wash U Distance Carnival
Ryan Heline had the best finish of the day for Saint Mary, running a 30:53.07 in the 10000m event and taking 38th place.
