Spires Compete Well Across Kansas on Thursday

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Outdoor Track and Field team was split up this week, competing in the KT Woodman Classic and the Emporia State Midwest Classic.

Elijah Cole and Justin Johnston took second and sixth place, respectively, in the 110m hurdles event. Cole also took ninth place in the 400m hurdles event with a time of 57.82. In the field events, Donel Jack placed third in the triple jump event with a mark of 14.32 meters. Tyler Cherne and Chinedu Nwadike were both in the top ten at the discus event, with marks of 45.24 and 43.65 meters, respectively.

 

Midwest Classic

Dominick Beine finished in fourth place with a time of 14:57.84 in the 5000m event. Tommy Baker finished right behind Beine with a time of 14:57.96 for fifth place. Daniel Pantoja also had a fourth-place finish in the 3000m steeplechase, running a 9:32.49.

The Spires will compete in the KU relays starting on Thursday in Lawrence, Kansas.
