Spires Have Three Top Five Finishes on the Weekend

Lawrence, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Outdoor Track & Field team completed competition at the Kansas Relays on Friday and Saturday, resulting in multiple top-ten finishes. The throwers finished the weekend for Saint Mary at the Bearcat Tune-Up hosted by Northwest Missouri State. 

 

Kansas Relays

Elijah Cole had one of the best finishes of the weekend, taking 13th place in the 110m hurdles event with a time of 16.35. KC Harrison nearly cracked the top 20 with an 11.02 in the 100m event but finished in 21st place. In the field events, Donel Jack finished in the top ten with a mark of 13.62 meters in the triple jump event. The final top ten finish of the weekend was the 4x400m relay team of Davyon Richardson, Adrian Seeber, Wlices Ramos, and Cole, who ran a 3:27.33 and took eighth place.

 

Bearcat Tune-Up

Tyler Cherne took first place for the Spires in the discus throw event with a mark of 43.45 meters. Closely behind Cherne was Chinedu Nwadike who took third in the same event with a mark of 37.33 meters. Both throwers finished in close proximity in the hammer throw event, with Nwadike taking third with a mark of 42.62 meters and Cherne taking fourth with a 41.74-meter throw.

The Spires will compete in the Drake Relays starting on Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa.
