Spires Jump Up to 16 in Seasons First NAIA Coaches Poll

Kansas City, Mo.- The NAIA released their first regular season men's wrestling coaches poll on Thursday. The Spires are the only team featured in the poll not to be ranked in the preseason. 

After a strong showing at the Falcon Invite on November 4, Saint Mary moved up from receiving votes in the preseason poll to cracking the top 20 and sitting in 16. 

Head Coach Chuck Kearney had this to say, "We had a solid performance at the Falcon Invite that got us some more attention. The thing is, we have known all along that we belong here and have had to work to get the rest of the country to see that as well. I am very proud of what we have done so far, and the results we see now indicate where we are and where we want to go." 

The Spires will host Graceland Univeristy at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Ryan Sports Center.
