Game 1

Against Keiser, the Spires got on the board early and often as Brittany Wimbish hit an RBI single that drove in Victoria Gutierrez for the early lead in the second inning. In the third, Megan Brinkman hit an RBI single to center field that drove in Natalie Bruce. Allyson Dias then capitalized with an RBI single to right field that drove in two more runs before she scored on a passed ball to make the score 5-0. In the fourth inning, Saint Mary took advantage of errors by St. Thomas as McDaniel and Abigail Kudym were able to cross the plate. That same inning, Brinkman hit an RBI single that drove in Solis to make the score 6-0. St. Thomas was able to cut into the Spire lead after a three-run fifth inning, but the defense from USM was able to close the game out for the 6-3 upset victory.
