Pendley Drops 34 in Big Win Over OKWU

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Women's basketball team hosted the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles on Wednesday, resulting in a 78-62 win. The Spire's overall record is 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the KCAC.

Paige Pendley came out of the gates fast, going four for four from behind the three-point line and giving the Spires the early lead. The Spires continued to hold the lead throughout the first quarter, with points coming from Tanea Sims as well, making it a 19-12 game. Saint Mary kept scoring in the second quarter and built a 12-point lead with six minutes left in the half. However, the Eagles began to chip away at the Spire's growing lead and tied the game up at 32 right before the break.

After halftime, Oklahoma Wesleyan still had momentum from the end of the first half and took a 38-34 lead. The Spires were able to flip momentum back in their favor, going on a 10-2 run and retaking the lead.

Saint Mary took control of the game in the final quarter, outscoring the Eagles by ten points and securing the 78-62 win. Pendley and Sims both recorded a double-double on the night.
