Barnard Hits Eight Threes in Win Over Bulldogs

McPherson, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Basketball team took on the McPherson College Bulldogs on Saturday, resulting in a 93–58 win. The Spires are now 21-5 overall and 18-2 in KCAC play.

 

Each team was able to match the offensive output of the other until a three by Keely Barnard gave the Spires the momentum they needed. The Spires then went on a 14-4 run to end the half, leading the game 43-29. As the third quarter started, the Bulldogs were looking to cut into the lead. Two back-to-back layups by Tanea Sims extended the Spire's lead back to 14. The Spires would continue to put on impressive offensive output with the help of Barnard, who made four threes in the fourth quarter. The Spires won by a margin of 35 to sweep the Bulldogs in KCAC play. 

 

Keely Barnard and Tanea Sims combined for a total of 51 points, shooting 60% from the field.
