Sims Has 40 Points in Win Over Ottawa

Ottawa, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Basketball team took on the Ottawa Braves, resulting in an 81-57 win. The Spires have finished their regular season with an overall record of 23-5 and 20-2 in KCAC play.

 

The Spires came out the gate ready to play. Tanea Sims created 16 points, helping the Spires end the first quarter with a 27-10 lead over the Braves. Saint Mary kept their offensive momentum going into the second quarter by extending the lead even further. Threes made by Demi Aamold and Alanis Delgado extended the lead by 26. As the game went on, the USM offensive output helped put the game out of reach, giving Saint Mary the 81-57 win. Andy Kelley and the Spires finished KCAC play with a record of 20-2 and a second-place finish.

 

Tanea Sims recorded her 15th double-double in conference play with 40 points and 14 rebounds.

The Spires will host the first round of the KCAC Championship tournament at home against Ottawa University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Ryan Sports Center.
