Women's Soccer Drops to No. 8 Oklahoma Wesleyan on the Road

Bartlesville, Okla.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Soccer team played the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles Wednesday night, losing 10-0. The Spires are now 0-8-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the conference.

The Spires gave up a goal eight minutes into the contest, going down 1-0. Soon after that, Saint Mary put offensive pressure on the Eagles with multiple shots coming from Katy St. Martin. Oklahoma Wesleyan went back on the attack after the attempts by St. Martin and scored, making it 2-0 twenty minutes into the half. The Eagles scored three more times before the end of the first period, putting the Spire down 5-0 heading into halftime.

In the second half, the Spires gave up four more goals in the first twenty minutes, extending the Oklahoma Wesleyan lead to 9-0. Saint Mary held the Eagles scoreless for the next twenty-five minutes. With under five minutes to go, the Eagles scored their final goal of the night to make the final score 10-0.
