Women's Soccer Bested By Eagles

Bartlesville, Okla.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Soccer team hit the road to play Oklahoma Wesleyan on Wednesday, resulting in their first loss in the conference this year. The Spires are now 5-3-5 overall and 5-1-4 in the KCAC.

Saint Mary held firm to begin the contest, with Marisol Vargas coming up with four saves in the first thirty minutes of play. However, the Spires could not hold out much longer, and Oklahoma Wesleyan found the back of the net twice in three minutes to build a 2-0 lead that they held heading into the break.

Josie Hallier kept the Eagle's defense on their toes to start the second half with a shot that sailed just high on the net. Vargas had five more saves as play continued, but goals from Oklahoma Wesleyan with 13 and four minutes to go in the game made the final score 4-0. Vargas ended the night with 13 total saves.
