Women's Tennis Fall is Close Match Against Dutch

Pella, Iowa- The University of Saint Mary Women's Tennis team played the Central College Dutch on Saturday, resulting in a close 5-4 loss. The Spires are now 0-1 in the Fall season. 

 

Saint Mary gave themselves an early lead against Central, with Shannon Finn/ Mia Rojas and Taimane Cajudoy/ Arsys Rojas getting wins to put them up 2-0. The Spires dropped the final doubles match of the day to head into the singles matches up 2-1. 

 

Finn and Rojas won their singles matches to increase the Saint Mary lead by three. After three straight wins by the Dutch, it came down to Madyson Kline for the Spires. Kline took the second set to force a winner-take-all third set. Saint Mary fell 5-4 after dropping the day's final match.

The Spires will take on Mount Marty at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, in Leavenworth, Kansas.
