Spires Win Narrowly at Home Against KWU
Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Tennis team hosted Kansas Wesleyan for a conference matchup on Saturday, resulting in a close 4-3 win. The Spires are now 11-8 overall in team matches this year and are 8-1 in KCAC play.
Doubles
The pair of Tracy Llamas and Cortlyn Wolfe secured the first of two wins in the doubles matches for the Spires, beating their opponents 6-2. Shannon Finn and Mia Rojas got the other win to grab the lone doubles point of the day with a 6-0 win over their opponents.
Singles
Saint Mary continued their strong play in the singles matches, with Llamas winning 6-0 in both sets and Wolfe beating her opponent 6-2 in both sets. After three losses, Rojas won her crucial match-winning set 6-3 and 6-0 over her KWU counterpart, giving USM a narrow 4-3 win.
