Spires Open Outdoor Season at Emporia State

Men

Emad Bashir-Mohammed and Liam Neidig took first and second in the men's 1500m race. The Spires had four more top-ten finishes in that event, Kaden Cooley placed fourth, then Tommy Baker, Robert Huebert, and Dominick Beine finished sixth through eighth. In the 800m race, Luis Perez had the highest finish for the Spires, coming in eighth, while Huebert took tenth. Justin Johnson competed in the men's decathlon event on Thursday and Friday. Johnson finished in the top three in multiple events the discus throw, pole vaults, and the high jump event.

 

Women

Maddy Walter-Sherretts, Riley Hiebert, and Katherine Madsen finished in the top ten of the 800m event. All three runners also took first through third in the 1500m race. In the field events on Friday, Navea Krull came in sixth place in the high jump event with a mark of 1.41 meters.
