SPIRES BRING HOME THREE ALL-AMERICANS FROM NAIA OTF CHAMPIONSHIPS

MARION, Ind. – Last week a handful of Spires added their names to the history books when the Spires traveled to Indiana Wesleyan to compete in the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. The Spires were represented well, as multiple athletes earned a spot on the national podium and title of All-American.

The Spires had two All-American finishes in the women's 3000 Steeplechase. Riley Hiebert placed 4th for the Spires with a time of 10:45.46. Maddy Walter-Sherretts followed in 7th place with a time of 10:48.65.

The University of Saint Mary's had two athletes compete in the men's 10,000-meter run. Ryan Heline placed 13th for the Spires at 30:56.42. Dominick Beine showed his presence with a 6th-placed finish and a time of 30:34.02. Beine also became an All-American with his 6th-place finish in the competition.

In the men's 800 Meters, Luis Perez placed 13th overall with a time of 1:51.98

In the men’s 1500m, Tommy Baker ran a time of 3:57.96, which placed him in 18th.

In the men's 3000 Steeplechase, the Spires had two athletes compete. Dawson Adams placed 29th for Saint Mary's with a time of 9:46.77. Daniel Pantoja had a time of 9:54.19, which put him in 35th.

The Spires placed 14th in the men's 4 x 800 Relay with a time of 7:40.85. The squad included Jonah Godina, Luis Perez, Austin Howell, and Elvis Rojas-King.

In the women's 100-meter race, Gretchen Raney placed 17th with a time of 12.04 for the Spires. Raney also competed in the women's 200-meter race and posted a time of 24.35, putting her in 18th place.

In the women’s 800m Carlie Gregg posted a time of 2:14.43, which put her in 20th place.

The Spires had two athletes compete in the women's 5000-meter race. Reagan Hiebert posted a time of 18:06.48, which put her in 11th place. Kate Madsen came in 25th place with a time of 18:03.56.

In the women’s 10,000m Hannah Showalter placed 13th, posting a time of 37:32.56. Right behind her in 14th was Kate Madsen, with a time of 37.46.64. Not far behind these two ladies came Monse Guerrero-Chapula in 19th, posting a 38:36.86 time.

The Spires placed 14th in the women's 4 x 100 Relay with a time of 47.13. The squad included Samantha Colson, Zaria Spencer, Lexi Wardlow, and Gretchen Raney.

The Spires placed 26th in the women's 4 x 400 Relay with a time of 4:00.53. The squad included Carissa Martin, Gretchen Raney, Samantha Colson, and Lexi Wardlow.

The Spires placed 9th in the women's 4 x 800 Relay with a time of 9:09.42. The squad included Maddy Walter-Sherretts, Abigail Whiter, Carlie Gregg, and Carly Holadia.
